our story...
OUR MISSION
SSDA strives to be a studio with a family atmosphere, that pushes dancers to be the best versions of themselves. The non-competitive environment encourages dancers to strive to continue to improve each day. Our dancers encompass our core values that include kindness, independence, respect, confidence, and passion. We welcome ALL dancers regardless of physical ability, learning style, age, and background.
OUR HISTORY
Shining Stars Dance Academy was founded in 2016, under the direction of Heather Davis Delaney. The former studio, located at 236 N Battlefield Boulevard, was the former home to the Margaret Pleau School of Dance. When Ms. Margaret announced her retirement, Heather approached her with the idea of taking over the space and continuing a dance studio in the same location with the same focus.
Since then Theresa Johnston(Hylinski) was brought on as an Owner/Director and continues on the legacy of the studio. Under her discretion the studio has grown exponentially and has relocated down the street into a larger facility at 805 N. Battlefield Blvd, Ste. 115-116 and 109 to accommodate our ever-growing studio family. We also have several more performance opportunities for the dancers, including a Christmas parade and a competition team.

Shining Stars Dance Academy takes pride in small class sizes that offer more individualized attention to each dancer. No matter how much we grow as a studio, we want to always keep class sizes small, no more than 15 students, so that we can ensure quality training to every dancer.

The studio is built upon the love of dance. Through the families that attend SSDA to the instructors, everything we do is for the love of dance. We hope to inspire our students and encourage them to find their own love for dance and the confidence to showcase their talents.
